Our History

1930s

1930s- Monarch Dental Care began as Menees Family Dentistry. Dr. Robert E. Menees, Sr. graduated dental school in the 1930s. After returning home from serving in World War II, he opened his dental practice in 1946 in Kansas City, MO on the Country Club Plaza.

1971

1971- His son, Dr. Robert E. Menees, Jr., or “Dr. Bob” as he was known to his patients over the years, graduated dental school in 1968, and joined his father in practice. In 1971 he purchased the family business, and moved it down the road to Fairway, KS, where he ran a successful restorative and cosmetic office for over 40 years.

2014

2014- Dr. Laura Menees Moore graduated from dental school in 2000, and spent the early parts of her career focusing on public health. She began working with her father in 2010. In 2014 she purchased the practice and moved to its current location in Prairie Village, KS.

2020

2020- In late 2020, Dr. Laura decided it was time for her to focus on her family and retire from clinical dentistry. Dr. Alex Clark purchased the office, and Monarch Dental Care was born. Throughout its history as Menees Family Dentistry, a family atmosphere and relationships built on mutual trust have been at the forefront of the practice. Monarch Dental Care will continue to emphasize and build on the same values that have been the cornerstone of the practice’s success and that have been so important to its patients over the last 75 years.
